bugbath: questing

Atte Elias Kantonen

In March, Atte Elias Kantonen will curate an event bugbath: questing, where people gather around experimental music and sound performances. The evening approaches music as a landscape, a narrative and an associative act, serving as an invitation and action.

Throughout the evening, performances and presentations create a small path, a route, a plot - along the way, there is an opportunity for active or passive listening, being and adventuring.

The performers & schedule of the evening:

17:00 doors open

18:00 fafa

18:50 Haliz Yosef

19:30-20:00 break

20:00 Romance Relic & bod [包家巷]

20:50 An Tul

-an evening arranged around tales told through murmuring music, notional noise and skittering sound -

*

fafa: fafa's performance consists of audio diary cut-ups and midi-orchestra drama. Laptop music for big speakers. fafa is the moniker of Rafael Denisov, a bedroom composer living in Helsinki.

*

Haliz Yosef: Haliz Yosef frequently works with memories, cultural-identity and language created through geopolitical lenses. The interplay of moving image and sound art explores different languages creating new sounds, new actions and emotions.
- Do you remember that cave where we forgot to sleep? The memory echoes into a fantasy.

*

Romance Relic & bod [包家巷]: Dipole Inflorescence (flower friendship) is a live performance accessed through active listening/seeing, a simple act often conducted in nature that rewards one with the immense spectrum of sensory information. The music composed and performed with homage to field recordings and skyquakes will immerse the space into the relationships between the vocalizations of machines and their ultimately natural source.

An Tul: An Tul is a bond, an entity awakening through noise-pop performances. An Tul sound is visit from subterrestrial frequencies and flashes of divine desires. The performance in Mad House is built around An Tul's soon to be debut release, I Need Your Power EP.
