Anachronism, Schizophrenia, and the Speed of Light and Sound
Anachronism, Schizophrenia, and the Speed of Light and Soundreflects the interplay of divergent experiences, temporal disjunctions, and the nuanced exploration of fear, identity, and neurodiversity in a performative context, set in real and speculative spaces such as outer-space and in mines; by drawing on schizophrenia as a methodology.
The aim of the work is to reduce stigma. It approaches the realities, lived experiences and stories of people variously identified as mad, 'voices heard', neurotypical and/or disabled through shame, within a socio-historical context.
The work is composed of video, poetry, comedy, sketch theatre, mythological references, aesthetic myths and live performances.
Anachronism, Schizophrenia, and the Speed of Light and Sound is a co-production of Mad House Helsinki and Reality Research Center. The work will premiere in May 2025.
