Mad House goes Outsider Art Festival!

Exciting news! You may have already glimpsed that Mad House is co-producing the Outsider Art Festival's performing arts programme!

"The second edition of the OAF will give a voice to outsider artists by presenting a compelling mix of music, visual arts, performing arts, films and life stories. OAF promotes accessibility and equality in the arts by bringing together traditional art audiences and marginalised artists. OAF will highlight the skills of specific groups and present a new production model that will allow equal participation and new jobs for specific groups in the events sector. The target for 2022 is to employ 100 people in the arts and culture sector. "

For us at Mad House, it is important to be involved in promoting equality and diversity in the arts. It's important to invite large audiences into the margins of the arts, and we are ready to work towards this. The OAF's performing arts programme is curated in an imaginative way, and we can't wait for the August festival! Check out the full programme at the link below: https://outsiderart.fi/ohjelma-2022/

OAF Performing Arts

The festival's performing arts are a multifaceted bundle that invites you into different performance spaces. There will be circus performances at Satamata, humorous social media translations, colourful imaginary worlds and relaxed community singing. All performances are free of charge.

Kreetta Astala and Siiri Lehtiö: Remote (2022)

Remote by Kreetta Astala and Siiri Lehtiö is a contemporary circus show premiering at the OAF festival. Astala and Lehtiö's first joint performance deals with control and its loss, power and insecurity with a comic twist. In the end, we see what happens to a circus show when outside forces start to interfere in the middle of everything and a normal circus show enters a world of madcap absurdity, where it is certain that nothing is certain.

Panu "Prince" Palm: Prince Turns Everything Around

In the Prince Translates Everything project, the artist performs kilos of translation songs and "shows his tongue" to the music and entertainment business that exploits artists and the surface film that covers up its inefficiencies. Prince comments on the phenomena of contemporary culture with his aggressive voice and gestures, and at the same time with the disarming presence of his own body.

The venue and time of the performance will be announced later.
